Town Creek Clean Up
The July 16th flood postponed our annual River Clean Up, but now we are moving forward with a different format and focus. This most recent flood caused extensive damage to property, homes, and businesses along the creeks in Kerrville and throughout Kerr County. Rather than host one large cleanup event, we are going to support several smaller clean ups and first focus on the creeks that were hit hardest.
Our first clean up of this phased approach will be the Town Creek Clean Up on September 18th from 8 am - noon.
We are looking for around 75 - 100 volunteers for this event. There will be multiple clean up opportunities, so if you are unable to make this one, keep an eye out for more in the future.
This will be a boots-on-the-ground cleanup focused on litter removal and not woody debris. UGRA will provide trash grabbers, trash bags, gloves, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, and water. However, if you have small hand tools and/PPE you'd like to use (shovels, rakes, gloves, etc.) feel free to bring them! Please no sledgehammers, power tools, or heavy equipment. The City of Kerrville will coordinate trash removal.
